Tidings From The West

Brethren and Friends:

As Senior Warden of Tyrian Lodge, I look forward to a fantastic 2008 for the lodge. We have a great opportunity to grow our fraternity through the relationships we establish with our fellow masons. I look forward to bringing our new members into the fold and working with them on their Masonic journey of life. Also, it is refreshing to see our past masters and senior members back in action. We owe it to the lodge to work with our new members and create a legacy for the lodge.

During 2008, we will put emphasis on getting our newer masons involved with functions other than just doing degree work. I would recommend that each of us take a new brother under our wing and be part of his Masonic growth. Remember, our brothers will be actively involved as long as it is fun and there is a reason for them to get involved.

We will also work to improve on things like communication within the lodge, lodge functions (both official and 718 club), and family involvement. Masonry is not a hidden secret. Let’s promote it in within the lodge and the community and open the door for others.

Remember, what we do for the lodge today will determine where it will be in the future. Get involved, build relationships and have fun.

Fraternally,

George Burkley
Senior Warden
